I didn't have in mind deep snow situations or salted roads, but mainly frozen snow on the sides of the road which made big obstacles. It was funny that many sedan cars could not leave the parking space because they couldn't ride these obstacles. Especially the ones without all wheel drive. It was like trying to ride a high curb with a low height car and with limited traction. I agree with you that in many weather conditions you don't really need a SUV, but when you'll need it and you are really stuck maybe you'll have to think it twice. If it was possible to have a single car for everything, then maybe I would have a Porsche or something in this category and I wouldn't need to spend more than 80k for two cars. You know that there isn't such a thing and everything is a compromise.
