If Tada’s comments are sincere, I feel the best expectation in a new generation would be a slight increase in power while maintaining a lightweight NA platform. Perhaps a number 240-250hp number for the markets that are not getting either of the 2 4 cylinder Supra models.

Given that there are 2 4 cylinder turbo options in markets with the current 86, it would just seem bizarre for a turbo platform 86 at a similar price point (in those markets). What Subaru is thinking, who knows, it’s such a red-headed step child in their line up, anything is possible.

People screaming at a $50k Supra also just blows my mind. At its highest price, the last gen approached $50K, and that was over 20 years ago when $50K was much more money. Even its $40K price point would be about $65k today. With the trend of the NSX and GT-R, if anything, I’m surprised it came in at 50K and not higher.

But what the hell do I know, I’m just an idiot who is bored and stuck on an airplane streaming my consciousness
The sad part is that their tactics work because they will get loads of clicks and make some cash.
