I've had TC cut power on mine when trying to accelerate more up a steep grade on a freeway in a down pour. I didn't even floor it, just pressed the gas pedal enough to the point where I wouldn't slow down going up the grade. So instead of "feeling safer" with it, I felt that I was in more danger since it considerably slowed down the car.
