Did you take into account that you may actually be getting worse gas mileage with the lower octane? And wouldn't that completely nullify or reduce the amount of any fuel savings you think you might be getting?

You're not advocating it, but we're also telling you its a dumb thing to ignore the manufacturer specifications.
