My personally cars for the last 20 years have used premium. It was painful when gas was more than twice the price it is now. I’ve used 87 in those cars for the last 10 years. Haven’t really noticed any difference. Not in gas mileage or performance. Actually my last car a 350z that I babied and put premium in every fillup had the throttle body go bad then the oxygen sensor. Changed out both and had over 100k miles on it so I said f it and started using 87 until I wrecked it and traded it in for this car. I bought one of the first 350z and had it for 13 years until it was sideswiped by a car full of teenage girls.

I guess if I do hear pinging or knocking I will go back. I wouldn’t recommend others do it. I’m trying it as a personal experiment to see if it ever develops any problems. Kinda curious if anyone else did.
