I parked my car for several weeks during rainy weather last fall because I needed to finish installing my shocks. When I finished, the battery was completely dead. I thought I'd ruined it. I'm sure it lowered my battery's life span, but I believe the only time letting your batter go dead actually ruins it is if it is below freezing.


That's why I bought a new battery (and am returning it today). I just assumed the battery had gone dead and the temperature was in single digits.


BTW, 157k miles is impressive. I thought I was the only high mileage guy out there. Has it been pretty reliable?
