9.6 is not to bad if you do mostly stop and go city type driving. Especially if only traveling short distances. The only way I get such good mileage is my drive is 95% at least 45 minutes of highway with cruise on and only 5% city stop and go. The highway driving has such an impact on the average that I could let my car sit and idle for an hour without the gauge changing.
