There's an internal document that got leaked (and it's somewhere to be found, not sure where) detailing MY17 refresh changes over first gen FT86s.
Most notably, all MY17+ received stiffer cylinder blocks alongside more "under the hood" improvements. 17+ MTs did also get a slight boost in power as a result of the new intake (and got improved, tougher pistons to boot). However there wasn't much in the way of drivability changes for the AT, which IMHO is a little silly but what can you do.
