Just want to say I really enjoyed the intro course last year. I was in a white 13 CR-Z at the time. It was my first time on track ever, and I was really nervous about not crashing / being a hazard to other drivers. The event was managed in a very safe manner. Same goes for the one lapping evening I did after the school last year. The school inspired me to buy a more dedicated car (the FR-S) since I realized I would be doing it a whole lot more. The CR-Z just isn't quite up to tracking, the batteries run out after a lap, the trans gets way to hot, and the torsion beam rear suspension makes its presence known. Although in hindsight it was good to do my first event with FWD because RWD adds much more "drama".
After the intro school finished / before I drove home I watched some random lapping from some other organization. The amount of "don'ts" I saw was scary. Including pulling / on off the track in a dangerous manner, the number of cars on the course etc. I'm contemplating signing up for the intermediate school this year, but I only have two lapping sessions with the FR-S (one wet/one dry). I feel I need to practise the basics from the intro session a bit more before I could get the best value out of a whole day of instruction. Maybe getting some in-car instruction during a PADA lapping evening might be the next step.
Will there be private lapping days before the intermediate school takes place?
