Also Guff & I (Plus few others) were discussing this at dinner table, but chances of B58 engine were designed or help designed by Toyota.
- Tada-san went directly to Germany (after Spain 86 Media Press) to meet w BMW in 2012.
- They shipped and tested thousands of parts to see the durability.
- suspension parts, they’re using some M series... so what parts did Toyota tested?
- B58 came up 2015 w completely different design and engineering than previous N55 engine.
- B58 reliability is very high, they haven’t had any issues compare to N55.
There are some of the lists (not all) and it is a pure guess, sadly don’t have any solid proof, but if you connect those dots... idk just saying.

People slamming BMW reliability are ignoring the last few years and seem to be stuck in a 2003 mindset. BMW knew they had a reliability issue and they worked to resolve it. It cost them too much to just leave things as they were.
