Not sure I agree. If you are willing to sink that much money into an old Supra you've bought into it's hype, you are more likely to be a "purist" that will see this Supra as a sell-out.

Also, I wouldn't be so quick to set aside current 86 owners would not be interested in the Supra, or at least the marketing folks would think so. In the automotive industry for almost as long as it has existed car lines are set up to move you "up" then next time you purchase. This seems like a next step up for some 86 owners.
