Personally I feel the V2 is too little. I have those on my OEM wheels and I really don't like them (they came with the car).

A really nice middle ground I feel is the Sumitomo HTRZ-III. Asymmetrical, good wet grip, decent dry, good breakaway, lasts a long time, comfy and quite cheap. Less than $100 each at TireRack.
