If I or someone else was killed because of a known safety defect in my car, the lawyers would have a field day with it, both civilly and criminally.
In fact - given the extrapolation of the simple argument that I never would have modified the car if I knew they had built me an engine with a manufacturing defect, I'm pretty sure they can't legally charge me for any additional time that's required either.
I will be consulting with my lawyer before I even take my car in.
