Yes they are. There's measurable lash between the cam lobe and roller rocker. Cars that are too tight are throwing the p119f and p219a combo of codes, my 2017 suffers from that.



The picture and instructions are a bit misleading, telling us to measure some valves on one bank, then rotating the engine to measure others, but we know from timing instructions that at certain positions, all 8 valves on a certain bank will be free. That may not be the position to accurately measure the lash, but it should suffice to remove components without stress.
