A stock 86 hangs with an ND Miata 0-60, provided they're on equivalent tires. The Miata comes with Potenza S001 tires, max performance summers, which are 3 performance categories above the BRZ's primacies which are Grand touring summers (Grand touring < High performance < Ultra high performance < Max performance).
Car and Driver clocked the BRZ going 14.9 at 95.5 MPH through the 1/4 mile.
They did 14.8 at 93 MPH in the ND Miata.
The 2019 Miata does 14.5 at 95MPH.
This means the BRZ is once again let down by the damn primacy tires, as the higher trap speed indicates it's faster than the Miata. Even the new 190hp Miata is only just as fast as a stock BRZ, provided the BRZ can launch as well. At higher speeds the BRZ walks on the original ND.
