I installed a magic trunk button. Now I can turn the trunk light off or on manually when the trunk is open.
This is so when the trunk doesn't fully close, it doesn't completely drain the battery overnight., so I will keep it in the off
position until I actually want it on now.
Switch that fits exactly in the preexisting hole on that latch mechanism.
