Rubbing bumper tab depends on wheel specs as much as tire width (and brand). I had 255/35/18 MPSSs on 18x9.5 +42 and had zero rubbing. 1.5* camber up front and near 2* out back, from what I remember.
I sold my BRZ so I can’t provide any recent specifics, but know that trimming the tab isn’t difficult and fitting 265s at 9.5 wide and +40 is relatively easy.
