Dunlop ZIII Opinions?

Hi all, I am considering some Dunlop Direzza ZIIIs. What is their tread life like for a dual duty car and will they perform ok from cold?

Some more detail:
I currently have Bridgestone RE003 (known as Firestone Firehawkindy 500s in the US) on my 86. They will need to be replaced soon and my local tyre shop has offered me a deal on the Dunlop ZIIIs. My 86 is my daily driver that does about 60kms (38mi) on my daily commute. I have done 3 hillclimb events (which are short sprints usually on closed public roads, up a hill that I tend to take just under a minute) and a motorkhana in the last year. I am looking to do more events next year. The RE003s have been good to me, reasonable grip and have lasted about 2 years.

My car is NA with bolt ons, header, intake, hi-flow cat front pipe with an OFT tune, light flywheel, coilovers, rear upper arms for camber adjustment and rear subframe whiteline bushes. I have STi 17x7.5 wheels and run 225/45R17 sized tires.

I know the ZIIIs will grip harder but will they last ok? Does any one have a personal comparison between the two tyres? Given the sprint nature of the events I do will the ZIIIs be ok with little chance to pre-warm them? Could I reasonably expect to get at least a year out of the ZIIIs?
