I drove through a road block on the way to a gig many years ago by slowing down and flashing my social security card. The road was closed due to light flooding (I was in a Range Rover and didn't care), there was really no other way to get to the gig w/out a 30 mile detour (it was out in the middle of nowhere), and I didn't have time to mess around. I didn't slow down enough for any of the local constabulary to get a good look at the "credentials" I was flashing, but they didn't follow me. I saw them sort of scratching their heads in my rear view mirror, though. Good times.
