The Z was already ruined. A smaller, 500-lb lighter Z would be a huge step in the right direction, even with a 4 cylinder.
For sure the 3.7 liter in the current 370 has to go. Too big (bulbous, very high hoodline required to cover it) and heavy (even moving the rear wheels forward vs. the 350Z, f/r distribution remains poor for a 2-seater FR car at 54/46).
Needs a new styling direction as well. 350/370 look rather toad-like to me...
IMO, they should do a new Silvia/SX and Z on the same small, lightweight platform. And a 2, 4, and 5-door 510 lineup on the same platform as well!
