I've thought about smaller wheels for weight savings, but noticed the higher profile tires needed are heavier (tirerack tire specs page) and cancel out wheel weight savings. I am back to 17" or maybe even 18" with lower profile tires won't weigh much more using same/similar wheels and tires widths. I am back to the drawing board...
