Actually, I do have a question that's relevant. I know there have been other threads about that space. Was it ever decided/discovered what the space is for? I've noticed that when I put a bubble level in there, it is level when the car is on level ground. They made a space there so people could sell random shit to fill the space with. Then someone at Subaru/Toyota later realized they could fill the space with seat heating controls so they did that, and made sure that other people still had some space around the buttons to fill with random shit.
