I’d like to keep everything together because it was all built together. This setup came in a car that I bought from my friend who purchased the car new in 2013 and upgraded it incrementally until 2015. The car had 13,700 miles on it when I bought it in June 2018, so many of the parts have fewer miles on them than that. My friend was never happy with the driveability of the tune on cold start or at partial throttle, so he never drove the car much. I am a track junkie and have no need for the kind of power this setup made, so I replaced this setup with a stock motor.
I do have some receipts, but unfortunately not all of them. I am doing my best to represent what I know about the setup, along with what my friend remembers from having built it back in 2013/2014 (he’s had a lot of cars since then). I have taken photos of the forged pistons with a borescope. I tried to sneak the borescope up through the oil drain hole and photograph the rods too, but I couldn’t make it past the upper oil pan and windage tray with the camera. If you are a serious buyer and come with cash in hand, we can remove the oil pan together if you need to see proof of the forged rods. You are also welcome to bring a compression tester - I didn’t have a 14mm spark plug adapter for mine.
Video of cold start on old fuel (E44) (excuse the dust!):
Video of revving to redline:
If you have more questions, I’ll do my best to answer them or find out from my friend if he can remember. I’ve tried to be as transparent and comprehensive as possible, hence the borescope photos, videos, and oil photo. Also seen below is a photo of some of the oil that came out of the car when I drained it - no milkyness, no metallic bits. Of course, you’ll need some new gaskets and a few new hose clamps for the charge piping. I’ve also got a box of parts I’m happy to include, such as stock pistons and rods, various parts from previous incarnations of the build, as well as a few high-torque clutch and flywheel setups you’re welcome to have.
