Additives in dual rated lubes are "good enough" to provide GL-5-ish protection without corroding soft metal, but not as good as an actual GL-5 lube.
I suggest that, unless one is concerned about minimizing inventory, there's no reason to choose in-between stuff over the good stuff. Use GL-4 in the transmission, GL-5 in the diff, and call it a day.
