The 86 has significantly more ground clearance as a DD than a C7 or 458, that's what makes the CoG claim impressive. Anyone who would prefer to have a higher CoG cuz 'marketing ploy' should really just buy a Mustang or Challenger cuz they appear detached from physics. While 50:50 is a marketing ploy, it's not because 50:50 is just as good as 56:44, it's because 50:50 is not perfectly ideal. 50:50 is still better than forward bias. Same thing for CoG. Lower IS BETTER, period. Drop the ground clearance to the same with some coilovers as a C7 or 458 and be impressed by your $25k car. It's okay. CoG is actually one of the main arguments for keeping the Corvettes pushrod OHV engine rather than OHC. Better weight distribution. A boxer would lower the C7 CoG even more but impact the suspension geometry up front and other packaging issues. So using the C7 as an argument against CoG being important is really a self defeating exercise.
