You would rearly want to make some substiantial changes to tune to try to reduce the level of knock for long term use and as I understand it you not on pure 87 either.
for starters id pull at least 6 to 8 degrees out of the map over the entire rpm range
richen your closed loop fueling
if you don't see a very substiantal reduction in knock then it likely the engine wont cope with 87 no matter what you do due to the 12.5:1 compression ratio.
The first thing that went on these cars subject to knock in early days was the direct injector seals, they are quite expensive and difficult to replace and not the sort of part that will be available on back road garage.
But first you need to run a tune that logs correctly with a bunch of timing reduction
