On the online ordering thing sounds both really bizarre and really intersting to me. I wonder if they are trying to keep their margins up to compete with Toyota. You'll have to pay RRP if you buy it this way. What I can't work out is how dealers will make any money to compensate them for the time showing people the car, going on test drives etc!?
I can only assume you'll still choose a dealer for delivery and they'll get paid for that?
Someone said dealers will use the same website as others to order, so maybe if they do that they get commission, if you just do it from home they don't... Who knows, certainly will be interesting to see if this is an attempt to innovate on the process... Seems like the perfect car to do it with given the demand and presumably young and tech savvy demographic.
