They had 2 on the lot for months with rusty brake discs so obviously nobody else got to drive them. The salesman not only knew nothing about the BRZ (I expect that) but he didn't seem to know how to sell any car.
Something my dad taught me when I was young, is to go down to all the dealerships in your area (before looking for cars) and get a feel of the people and environment there. He literally took me out on a day trip once when I was 16 just to go to the two auto mall areas near us to just go test drive cars and gauge the sales people. He ended up finding out who was a good seller and who didnt know jack shit. 3 years later he went back to the Honda dealer and talked with the salesperson he networked with years ago and got a brand new 2012 Honda Civic LX for 10k.

I took that story to heart and when I moved to Livermore before I bought my BRZ I went down to the Subaru dealership just to test drive what they had and shoot the shit. Ended up meeting an awesome guy who a year later would sell me my BRZ. When I went there the first time he leet me test drive a 2015 BRZ Limited and a WRX limited, I went there a year later got my BRZ, when the 2017 PP and Series yellow came out he let me test drive those as well.

I mentioned I might want a WRX. He quoted me 25k out the door for one brand new with the options I wanted.

Moral of the story. Build those relationships. And try to do it when you aren't looking for a car. Thats who you know the good sales people are. The shady ones are the ones who only care if they are getting a sale that day. The good ones know that by nurturing the relationship, they will get that sale from you, and from all the referrals you will make.
