These mats are rigid and form fitted. They are much stiffer and lighter than Weathertech and they just don't move and won't bunch up. It has worked for me. I have had mats, including Weathertech, that have moved because they are less stiff, so I know what you mean. I like the added sound insulation of keeping the factory mats underneath.
