I think it falls into a category with a lot of things people say without realizing how bad they can be... Like "no can do" or "peanut gallery" or one of many other common phrases...
OK you gotta tell me what is bad about "no can do" or "peanut" gallery.
Half of what we say could be traced back to a point where it was indeed offensive so where do we draw the line in using old phrases? Things can be taken way to far.




I would sit here and shut my mouth but that may offend somebody.
