I was looking for a good way to get the car up high and motorcycle lifts kept popping up in my search so I started thinking that since they handle 1k-1500# each why can't we just put one under each wheel and lift the car 16 or 18"? It seems to me that a ~2800# car should be safe on 4 of these. No?

I got those for my lowered Talon. Anything with much more lift just didn't work since I could not get the car up onto them. It was tight but I could get under the car without too much issue. Although now that you mention it I could probably only get halfway under the car nowadays.
The weight may be OK for the bike lifts but I would have some concerns about stability with all wheels up in the air.
