Tcoat, along those lines, the 1964 Galaxy 500XL factory option dual-quad 427 was impressive. Rated 425 hp but said to produce well above that. My older brother owned one, an M/T convertible that he let me drive. All it wanted to do was spin it's skinny bias ply tires at any speed. He also kept a fire extinguisher handy and the hood up for cold start easy access just in case.
