This has me wondering if it would not be easier to just take the bare FA20DIT block and utilize everything external from the 86/BRZ, including cylinder heads if necessary. It seems like you would need standalone ECU either way, but you would get the simplicity of maintaining most of the factory equipment save for the exhaust manifold and perhaps a few small components here and there. Or perhaps that would not work due to differences in the engines I am not accounting for?
