My 2006 TSX was the most expensive cheap car I've (briefly) owned.
-Power steering leak due to poor hose material, dripping P/S fluid all over the exhaust manifold (this was the subject of a recall in the US due to risk of fire, but not Canada)
-VTEC solenoid/gaskets leaking oil
-Not engine-related: worn suspension components clunked over all manner of pavement undulations
I bought it for $6,500CAD, sold it for $2,000 (was relieved to be the fool parted with his money, and that damned car). I'm sure I could've fixed it up, but it was high-mileage, likely abused by previous owners (I was #6 in the line - that should've been my major red flag), and almost certainly would've cost more than it was worth to make it acceptable. I suppose it gave me a taste of old Jaguar-ownership on Honda-money: I enjoyed the sleep deprivation that comes from wondering if my car will start and take me to work the next day.
But my current stable (08 Honda Fit and 03 S2000) have been solid.
