When I purchased it in 2013 people were posting pictures here showing cups full of oil being caught. Mine was more like a thimble full after a few months. Not sure why but perhaps it has to do with piston rings or something. Also, FI made no difference.
Not to be a ****, but it's forced INDUCTION (if that wasn't an autocorrect error).
Carbon on the valves is more an issue with many direct injection designs, but the D4S system is highly effective at preventing this. More likely it's just an oily lining to the intake manifold.
