Pricing is not only related to costs, including economies of scale, but what the market will bear. The latter is related to number/kind of competitors and emotional factors. The BRZ is a sports car and the WRX is a sedan. Pricing is also related to corporate goals. When you are trying to push sales of a car, lower price is one of the tools. If you are trying to limit production for any number of reasons, you raise the price. My guess is that the BRZ is close to the end of its run and they will milk as much profit from it as possible before it goes.
