Your throttle body is prone to icing and getting stuck in cold weather so the engine circulates the bare minimum amount of coolant to prevent this. It only keeps the throttle body warm, and transfers only tiny amounts of heat.

It’s a waste of time and money removing it and capping the ports, and your cap has a greater risk of causing a coolant leak.
