I notice the games and such hold a lot of value vs the cards which are mostly worthless. And very worthless if you compare to how high the prices for certain cards were back in the day.
I still remember opening a Booster and getting a Venasaur holo on my birthday. Wasn't a first edition but was sweet. Also saving change and buying first edition expansion pack boosters at the gamestop for 2.99
I traded a first edition holo kangaskhan and mr mime for my holo charizard (LOL)

It's my generation that makes Pokemon so valuable, first edition holo Charizard is currently worth a fortune because of how desirable it is to some people around my age. I'd hang on to it for a long time.
