I think it's more like 30 lbs in total. Combined with how much gas is in the tank, it makes a slight difference in rear ride height. The height difference on my car is about 1/8" between a full tank with trunk junk vs 1/4 tank with no trunk junk. I have 400 lb springs though, so I'd think the difference would be more pronounced with softer spring rates.
