I'm 99.9% certain the studs are seated all the way. I get no play there (by hand) and I measured their depths the last time I had the wheel off yesterday and they were all equal. But I will tear it all apart sometime in the next few days to check on any missing studs and to ensure the new ones look right.

I still think it sounds like the spring, but I checked it and it was solid. I could spin it by hand (while in the air) and repositioned it to see if that would change anything. It didn't.

I'll try to get a sound file tonight if it's not pouring rain again.
