Once I stopped at a gas station in rural Louisiana for some coffee. While I was inside the store, I heard what sounded like my engine chirping and had a moment of panic thinking someone had started up my car outside. But no, it wasn't my car. There was a cage of bait crickets in the store for the fishermen.
No amount of valve adjustment will fix the chirping, because it's not valves. It's the high pressure fuel pump. This car is not the only car that has the issue. Some other cars with HPFPs also chirp.

Lol, I haven't experienced that sound yet then.
So the chirping sound is generated from the fuel pump itself?
