Motul 300V Mileage

Don’t listen to BS’s (or anyone’s) advice on extended oil drains from only one uoa and especially without a TBN (said the guy that had turbo failure with good uoa’s). But now you know. I’d recommend a maximum of 5,000 miles on 300V and Motul would probably recommend less.

BS extrapolates the fuel % from the flashpoint result but do not actually test for fuel. Oil Analyzer’s Inc estimates fuel on occasion as well, but they will do an actual fuel test using Gas Chromatography if viscosity doesn’t look right or upon request. Plus you get TBN at no additional charge for a cheaper cost than Blackstone. I’d definitely go with OAI (or another lab that that does an actual fuel test) on a modified 86 or if you just want to save money.

Although neither lab can match Dyson Analysis for the amount of information and guidance he provides.
