Yours is probably one of, if not the best, jobs I have seen as far as adding power and doing all the work required to support that power. Is it "ruined" in my mind? Most certainly not. Is it what I would want for myself? Again most certainly not. Different goals, plan of use, driving conditions and even styles mean each person needs to decide what they want but these wants and needs "ruin" nothing about the car. They just change it.
