I have had dark tint on my last 5 cars. I have never even come close to hitting anybody. It doesn't interfere in the least if you actually look instead of taking a casual glance (or nothing at all) like many people do. Odds are they would have done the same thing even if the car was bright yellow with flashing lights and reflective stripes. Blaming tint or car colour is just an excuse.
