Just past the break in period (1000 mi) so I've been driving more in the upper rev range and actually think the car is adequate power/speed. I have owned a S2000 and that car is marginally quicker/more powerful but the difference is not crazy, I mean hardly any quicker seat of the pants feel.

You may find yourself wishing it had more oomph only now and then but 95% of the time it's got enough. The correct gear for the road speed and revs make all the difference.

I test drove a 2.0L turbo Cayman which has 300hp and (280TQ) peak from 1950-4500 rpm. So that car the power was always on tap, it was a PDK as well. To compare the two is night and day, the turbo Cayman is speedy quick but it was less involving to drive it was almost like the power was a non event, all power all the time. You could drive with the engine barely turning over and not be too far away from major power, that's not the case with the BRZ.

With the BRZ engine in the 5-7K rev range it has good power and down low in the 2500-5K range it's not quick but it's fine for normal everyday driving.

I like it’s short gearing since you only drop down a small bit each up shift.

Regarding the infamous torque dip, it’s there but not an issue imo, if there wasn’t so much jabber about the TQ dip I would’nt even think about it.
