The extra BRZ adapter "plate" wedge is to is to angle the camera to the right angle since the OEM camera is used for multiple Subaru models. The kit should already include the Pioneer pigtail wire harness.
I have one myself, installed by myself. To this day, though it was an expensive investment, it's well worth it. Quality is very good!
