So my car was garaged when I left this morning so it wasn’t as cold as the cars outside, but it was in the low 50’s this morning around 7am. My car idles for 30 seconds before I usually take off from the garage. I have the recommended 0-10 oil in there with about 3500 miles on the oil. In first and second gear the oil pressure was around 135 at 5500 rpms. My Defi gauge only goes to 140 psi. One to two minutes into the drive and the same rpms got only 100-110 psi. Three to five minutes in, and it dropped significantly more. I could imagine the psi going right off the gauge if my car was outside in the middle of winter or had thicker viscosity oil... and I’m in warm California. I never tested when I didn’t have the Forester XT cooler because I didn’t have my gauge, but I feel like warming the oil quickly would be important for some.
