Why are some AE86s that are rusted out selling for $5K with like 200K miles on them? Simple, because they don't make them anymore. Hold onto your 86s until they become rare rusted out 200K mile machines when all others are effectively dead.
Resale value is a silly metric to base a car's smiles/gallon.
