If it's traction, you are after, more worth getting stickier compound tires, then going that wide. The very widest one can stuff in under arches is more for (questionable) looks crowd, not for ones wishing most performance/handling. But well, it's your car and your money, and if it's wide tire looks you prioritize above anything, you are free to follow your goal. It will have drawbacks (will reduce acceleration, traction in wet and snow will get actually worse, car will be less fun to drive) and as you found out, you spent a lot on wheels and tires and may need even more spendings to suspension changes or even wide body kit (too lazy to check fitment charts of wheel directory thread first posts or Will this fit? thread posts for clearance), but to each his own. Imho best advise you got in this thread is Racecomp Engineering's one, even if it's not what you may wish to hear.
