If I can recall you have minimal modifications on this particular car in the range of lowering springs and a catback and even these pre-installed by the dealer and certainly not any power mods. Let some others talk who have more experience in this area and if they really ruin the character of the car.

Yep mostly stock because I want a reliable DD and it does that job perfectly. On those rare occasions I get to play I can maybe push the car to 7/10 of it's capabilities while on the street.
Yes the things I have were pre installed by the dealer. It was the showroom car to push the add ons. I got $6,000 worth of stuff for $1,000 with full warranty coverage. What a fool I am for not doing it myself.
I have been modding cars for 46 years. My credentials have been provided here many times.
The whole question of what ruins the "character" is not answerable anyway. It is a machine and does not have "character". Much of what people like or dislike depends far more on their driving style and expectations. This is why some say more power ruins it and others think it becomes perfect. There is no ruin or not ruin if the results that you get are what you want. That applies only to those that actually do mods that get results though not people that throw random bits on and then claim huge increases based upon their own pet theory.
